Slicer Deep Dive Workshop – Level 2 (2-Day Intensive)
Short Description
Go beyond basic slicing. Learn how orientation, speed, cooling, and structural settings actually affect print strength, quality, and reliability — with real-world results.
Full Description
Level 2 is where you stop guessing and start engineering.
In this two-session workshop, we go deeper into Orca Slicer and explore the decisions that separate successful prints from frustrating failures.
You will design a controlled test object, manipulate key process settings, print it, and then return to evaluate the results.
This class is about understanding cause and effect.
Why does orientation matter?
Why isn’t faster always better?
How do infill, walls, and cooling interact?
Instead of theory alone, you’ll see your decisions play out in physical prints.
How This 2-Day Format Works
Day 1 (2 Hours):
• Review key Level 1 concepts
• Explore print orientation strategy
• Adjust speed vs. quality trade-offs
• Compare wall count, infill, and strength
• Modify cooling and layer height
• Prepare test objects for printing
Prints are started at the end of session.
Day 2 (1.5–2 Hours):
• Examine completed prints
• Compare strength, surface finish, and accuracy
• Discuss where assumptions were wrong
• Troubleshoot visible defects
• Learn how to diagnose future issues independently
You will leave with a practical framework for making smarter slicing decisions.
What You’ll Learn
• Why orientation impacts strength and surface quality
• How speed affects layer adhesion
• When higher infill is unnecessary
• The relationship between wall count and durability
• Cooling strategies and when to reduce it
• How to read slicer metrics before printing
• How to evaluate a finished print critically
Who This Workshop Is For
• Students who completed Level 1
• Printer owners who want better results
• Anyone tired of trial-and-error
